2012 Yamaha FX Cruiser SHO Review
Posted on Jan 18, 2012 in Reviews | Comment nowFor the year 2012, Yamaha has given a new design to the FX SHO series water craft. The hull is longer and it is also true mechanical neutral. The front end has been given a more aggressive like look. I got FX SHO and FX Cruiser SHO for testing and I put them through a lot of rigorous tests. Here I am blogging everything about it. Using the 1812 cc 4-stroke, 4 cylinder marine engine as the previous models, there is no problem of power. Instead, I was quite surprised by the handling. Salient Features Two color options - Yacht Blue Metallic or Carbon Extended rear platform Hydro-Turf mats Chrome accents Tilt adjustable steering Ultra light weight NanoXcel deck and hull Dual mirrors Re boarding step Supercharged four cylinder, four stroke, Yamaha Marine Super High Output [...] -
Beneteau Flyer Gran Turismo 49 Fly (2012) – High end boat
Posted on Jan 11, 2012 in Reviews | Comment nowFlyer Gran Turismo line is a French product made by Beneteau and one big thing that we have learned from these guys is that they have a great knack of getting things right. Flyer Gran Turismo 49 is a bit unusual; you can purchase it with or without flying bridge. There is also two and three state room models available. One more noteworthy aspect about this boat is that it gives you comfortable ride. In fact, this is the most comfortable one for this class of boats that I have ever tested to date. Performance When I was testing the Beneteau Flyer Gran Turismo 49 Fly, it quickly got apparent that all the things that this boat handled was pretty different and this is good. By this, I don’t mean pounding in to wave but instead cutting through it, there is no slamming down in reentry post [...] -
Bayliner 197 SD (2012) – a complete review
This boat reminds me of a famous line of Crocodile Dundee's to potential mugger having a switch blade 'now this is a knife' as it pulls out near-machette of 15". This is what I feel about the Bayliner 197 SD deck boat bow rider when it is compared to few of the other bow riders that we have seen. It can hold ten people at a time, according to the builder but I think that number is a bit modest. This boat should be on list of the US Marine Corps in the ‘must buy’ list. Also, just like other Bayliner boats, best part here is bottom line. The Key Features Black color on hullside Painted black trailer Tilted steering wheel A unique arrangement of seating which provides a “family-sized” cockpit and capacity of seating wrapped around 19 footer that is easily stored Great performance [...] -

Fred Herling, the planner at Everglades said that they are away by about an year from releasing the new draft plan. This delay wasn't connected to the controversy surrounding the Florida Bay, added Herling. The new management says that they might consider rules which would restrict any boating activities in Florida for protecting the seagrass beds. Different alternative plans have been released but some discussions at the local work shops say that they will be restricting access to some shallow areas. Speakers at the 2009 hearings disagreed that sea grass on the waters that are shallow have suffered from propeller [...] -
